Summary

During the pushback phase at Sydney Airport, ground crew detected a visible oil leak from engine number 4. During subsequent ground run-up, the number 4 Rolls-Royce Trent 970 experienced an uncontained low-pressure turbine disc failure during the ground power check. No injuries occurred; all passengers had not yet boarded. The aircraft sustained substantial engine and cowling damage.
