Summary
A Skippers Aviation Cessna 208 experienced engine flameout at 7,500 ft after fuel contamination (water in fuel) was inadvertently uplifted at Meekatharra Airport. The pilot successfully air-started the engine and landed at Meekatharra. The fuel supplier's water-drain procedure was found to be deficient.

- 01Water contamination at a level of 1.2% by volume was found in the right tank.
- 02The fuel bowser at Meekatharra had not been drained at the required daily interval.
- 03CASA issued a show-cause notice to the fuel supplier; an audit found systematic non-compliance with drainage procedures.
- 04Fuel quality assurance procedures at remote aerodromes were reviewed nationally.
